Entering the sauna Take care when walking around the sauna the floor can be slippery. Remove your shoes and rinse your feet (there is a foot bath at the bottom of the steps) before heading inside. Take a towel inside to sit on. Ensure the sauna door is closed. Adding water Use the ladle provided to pour a small amount of water onto the stove. We have found that less water on the stones is more beneficial. Please do not add anything to the sauna water or pour anything other than the water provided on the rocks or stove. Sauna session Take regular breaks from the sauna we advise 5-12 minutes inside and 5 minutes outside as a good rhythm and please drink plenty of water. You may wish to plunge in the sea in between sessions, though if you have any health conditions, are not used to sea immersion or are on medication please check with your GP if it is safe to do so. All persons using the sea as a ‘cold plunge’ do so at their own risk. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures and other dangers. Leaving the sauna Please close the sauna door, check you have all your belongings and leave at the end of your session time. Thank you !
  • Wood Stoves Safety
Our sauna is heated by a wood-stove inside. Our staff will come and top up the stove throughout your session, please do not attempt to put wood on yourself! If you would like a hotter sauna, add some more water on to the stove but please gently pour water rather than dump water as the heat can increase rapidly. Please DO NOT add any of your own essential oils or anything else to the water or stove rocks as some are not suitable for our stoves and can be dangerous or cause oil to fall on to the floor. Please be very careful when passing by and sitting near the stove, it is very hot and can burn you!
  • Managing Hot Temperatures
The temperature inside our sauna will fluctuate between 70 and 100 degrees Celsius. Please monitor your time inside using the sand timer; a duration of 5 to 12 minutes is recommended for each session with a break outside for 5 minutes or so before returning. During your time in the sauna, the temperature might change. If it becomes uncomfortably warm, consider relocating to a lower seat, stepping outside, or, with the consent of others, briefly open the door to reduce the heat. It's essential to maintain hydration - ensure you drink sufficient water both during and after your sauna session. Consider wearing a sauna hat as it aids in maintaining a comfortable body temperature.
  • Managing Cold Temperatures
Experiencing cold water is a key part of the therapeutic aspects of hot & cold therapy. For newcomers to cold water immersion, we recommend a gradual approach. Begin by immersing your legs, followed by splashing water onto your arms, chest, and back. Next time, gently submerge yourself or you can use the buckets provided while exhaling deeply. Using controlled breathing can assist in managing your response to the cold sensation.
  • Refund Policy
Refund Policy For sauna sessions and events In the unlikely event that we cancel a booking, you will be notified by email/mobile and refunded. We do not refund “no shows”. You may cancel or reschedule your booking in YOUR ACCOUNT - MY BOOKINGS up to 48 hours in advance by logging into your booking on our website.
